We explored a distinct path to design innovation. The project started with a proof of concept and a cool idea, with rapid prototyping and testing followed by immediate feedback and iterations.

What?

What?

The aim of this project was to come up with a alternate and a easier way to play the guitar but in no means replace the guitar

The below whiteboard contains all the 3 design arena iterations and jobs to be done .

After multiple iterations, shown above, we reached to this concept of a air pick and band which has buttons.

Future Scope

Future Scope

  1. Testing, since the prototype was a clay model and the concept was tested but the working and actual use case wasn't tested with real life users, the working prototype could be built.

  2. Understand the goal of aspirational musicians better and pivot the device from being a alternate device to a device which can be the first step of learning a guitar.

Learnings!

Learnings!

Challenge

  • Coming up with a new device to transform music.

  • Working alongside the backlash of musicians who might feel it is an insult to the artform.

Surprise

The amount of people who aspire to learn guitar

Insight

POC first, prototype and test, failing fast is a good strategy when trying to create designs which users don't know they need

Skills learnt

Product/ Industrial thinking, prototyping

Phygital device experience.
